A Touch of Cherry by Angela Sullivan

A Touch of Cherry by Angela Sullivan
I am just a little green bird. Not sure what they call me. I think some people call me a mushroom bird. What on earth does that mean? I am not moldy and I don't grow in the ground. I am just a little bird. Well anyway the other day I was sitting on this table and saw something beautiful. Two cherries was right there just waiting for me to eat them only come to find out they were hard and I could not figure out how to eat them. Hard as a rock they were and as I tried to eat them I almost broke my beak. Then the lady of the house came by picked up the cup and drank coffee out of it. How foolish I was to think the cherries were real. I can see now that they are just painted on...just like me.

Pins and Needles by Angela Sullivan

Pins and Needles by Angela Sullivan
I am a tomato half hidden in the shadows. I am lying in wait just biding my time till I am needed.
You see that pin laying there on the table. Well that is my weapon. I may seem weak but I am deadly when I need to be but honestly most can be taken down with one little jab to the eye. Ok actually this is my day off so all is safe.

Dueling Cherries by Angela Sullivan

Dueling Cherries by Angela Sullivan
We started out just a few cherries but then I bumped into this suspicous looking dude and I knew right off that I just didn't take a liking to him. You see.... He just looked at me with that crooked grin. That is when at that very nmoment that I challenged him to a fight...A duel as a matter of fact. Keep watching I will win this one. 5x7 oil on canvas panel.

Sitting on The Edge by Angela Sullivan

Sitting on The Edge by Angela Sullian
We started out among a whole bunch of cherries on the produce isle at Walmart. Thrown
in among the rest we did not seem special at all. Then she walked by with that little plastic bag. She reached down among the dark rich red cherries and picked a handful of us up. Without thought she plopped a few in her mouth and as she savored the rich thick sweetness we shook in our boots. Yes sir re! We scrambled as fast as we could to the bottom of the bag. Now at home on the kitchen table we are trying to decide if we should jump as we find ourselves Sitting Here on the edge wondering whatwill be next.

Sunday's Prize by Angela Sullivan

Sunday's Prize by Angela Sullivan
Hey You!!!  Thats right don't be looking at those roses. Slide your gaze right on down here where it belongs. Yea thats right. We are cherry. We can't be overlooked or we get very upset. In fact due to what we have seen on the news today we have ideas of what to do when we don't get the attention we deserve.
We will stomp and shout and protest! You don't want to make us destroy those beautiful roses now do you? Ok that is better.....Pretty ain't we? Glad ya stopped by.

I See Myself by Angela Sullivan

I See Myself
I have been struggling at times with what I should paint. Sometimes I am just not happy with my
choices. Today as I realized that the new challenge is open I decided to try my hand at it. This is an odd
size at 12x6 inches. I kinda liked playing around with the dark background.

Feelers

Feelers
What a name? I am laughing but that is what all those cherry stems reminded me of.
I was practicing color here with a limited palette. I read some instruction from artist Carol Marine and tried
to apply some of what she said. I think I will try it again. I mixed my own grays.
I am pretty pleased with how it turned out.

The Bottom of The Bowl

The Bottom Of The Bowl
One little cherry left alone in the bottom of the bowl. How fitting as it could be
devoured already by some hungry child.

I Escaped

I Escaped
Look at that delicious pie. Sweet and tart just like grandma used to make. Guess what?
I am sitting her saying this only because I am so clever. Yep...I got away, I escaped. Right when they
were reaching for me I rolled right off in the floor and hid under the table. I snuggled up real close to the leg
and then I smelled that wonderful aroma and knew that I was safe. A hand picked me up and placed me
right back on the table so near that piece of pie that I can still feel the warm heat from the oven. Almost seems as though I am goodying them. Well I kinda am goodying them. So glad that I escaped and
will be around to tell this incredible story to my grandchildren. Oh no....Oh no....tell me it ain't so they are
coming back to get me. She is licking her lips and she ain't looking at that pie. Here I go again.
Splat I am on the floor again.....Give me a little hand how bout you say a little prayer for me right now. I might not be so lucky next time..............

Cherry Chirp

Cherry Chirp
I do know that birds are suppose to eat those little red berries which hang on trees.
From my standpoint these look like a little too much for me. I think I will pass.

Atypical Strawberry Shortcake

Atypical Strawberry Shortcake
I am a rebel...I refuse to be put into one of those fancy little dishes.
I have always loved those little glass jars and that is what I will have.
