Motivators

What do you do when you're feeling tapped out of strength? Are there any particular things, places, movies, quotes, activities, rituals ... anything that you do to motivate yourself to keep going through a tough time? Where do you find motivation? What helps you to not give up?

I'm collecting these for a possible future project. And, selfishly, I could use a little boost right now. If you have something to share, please post a comment. I appreciate your suggestions and advice as I continue to push through and up the next set of peaks.

I was asked to create an autumn angel for Fire Mountain Gems, for use in one of their ads.....

I buy a lot of my beads and embellishments from them and this time picked out wonderful pieces in greens and bronze and purples.....

plus using some antique tarnished gold laces.....

It's fun to watch her take flight....

Somewhere Out There

Somewhere Out There
Somewhere out there is a place just waiting for us. Once in
our life as we ramble from place to place we find that perfect spot.
The one we will never forget and as we grow older at times we will always
go back there in our memories just to visit once more.
My somewhere out there place is a little campground at
Two Medicine , Montana.
No I will never forget. I think that I even now feel the crisp mountain air.
aaaaah!

True Moo

True Moo
A baby whitish cow. I know that I paint a lot of still lifes but
really my true love is painting animals.
Can't help it... I find myself smiling more when I paint animals.
Maybe I am really laughing at myself.
Oops I did catch a little glare in the photo.

Springtime Gathering

Springtime Gathering
These three chicks are gathered just waiting for a morsel of food.
What you can't see is many other chicks gathered around them.
You can't see them because I cropped them out.
Ha!!!! I am in control....

abalone shards, mirrored tiles and the flow of energy....

When I am inspired and working on a piece it feels like I am being moved by an energy that I can't stop.....I work fast....like I'm on a river that is rushing and carrying me forward.

It's a great feeling....but I'm kind of "spent" at the end of the day......

I'm trying to create this Hawaiian Goddess of the Ocean to be of, or within, a wave.....a wave created with abalone shards, shells and mirrored glass tiles...

This is the base of the wave....

Her Haku is made of coral pieces and tiny bead work.

busy day in the studio....

One of the things that I love so much about being here in Hawaii is that I'm in the studio all day long....everyday. Here are two new art dolls I've sculpted.  Firemountain Gems has asked me to create a piece for them to use in an ad so the larger head will be for them.....and the other darker head is going to be a Hawaiian Goddess of the sea...

I'm going to be putting my work in a new gallery at the Outrigger Hotel in Waikiki.  It's called the Kuloko Gallery. I am making lots of sea and mana pods with tempered glass for them.

I'm also going to make the Hawaiian Goddess of the ocean.  Here she is ready for the next step.....that's going to be a wave behind her....

I'm also working on a Hawaiian angel.....I can't wait for tomorrow so I can head back to creating!
