What's Inside

What's Inside
Don't you just love getting gifts. The anticipation of what's inside is sometimes better than the
gift within. I love the feeling of the smooth crispness of the paper and then seeing the beautiful bow. That alone makes me thankful for whatever is inside.

Giving Love Away

Giving Love Away
I am still in my quest of doing the perfect study which will become a larger painting. And
daily I trudge along paintingmy little heart out. Today once again I paint this Teddy Bear which my
mom gave me for Christmas a couple of years ago. I only have a few of them and treasure each one.
As I think about this little bear I think about my mom. She will be 89 this year. I still call her each day and I can't help but think about all those times she showed me love in so many ways. Like all of the times she did without so I could have what I wanted not what I needed. It is a wonderful thing when you give love away and years later it brings a smile when someone thinks of it.

Garden Seat

Garden Seat
In the garden right next to the old shed wall sets a weathered blue chair. Unnoticed it may
seem to be abandoned but not so....It is grandmas chair just waiting for her to return and sit among the
tulips. It may be nothing to the bystander but to grandma it is her own special Garden Seat.

Cast Colors

Cast Colors
Sometimes when you view and object you see only the obvious but upon
closer examination you see color which has bounced off other objects. Here I exaggerated cast
colors just because I wanted too...

Spring Color

Spring Color
I really like loading gobs of paint and then letting it sit atop the
underpainting. I think it makes such drama to an otherwise
plain subject. This is colors which I mixed and it reminded me of
the colors of spring.

Also an Apple

Also an Apple
these tulips were bought from a local grocery. They were soooooo red.
The greenery was dark with lighter leaves. The vase short and squaty was picked from
a cabinet filled with glass jars. The apple plump and fresh sported the same red hues as was in the tulips.
A still life with the elements just right , A clear glass vase, A bouquet of deep red tulips and also a red apple.
This is another larger work 20x16 acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas.
