One Red Barn

One Red Barn

Somewhere out in the country surrounded by the stillness of life is a barn. A red barn that

has been standing for quite a long time. It is as if that barn red paint makes it

invincable to the sun and rain and snow. It is like some powerful force surrounds it and helps it to

last throughout the ages.

A light dusting of snow is the most magical feeling. The first snow melting in your hair and the feeling as that cool winter air touches your face is the most wonderful thing I can imagine. It feels like Christmas everyday of the year.

A Place Where Cows Call Home

Just before you get to the Alabama river on the right side of the road

is some silo's. They store grain for feed. Cows live here and are very content.

California is not the only place for happy cows.

I am experimenting with color focus. I have been very pleased with the results so far.

When I paint animals I say to myself that they are my favorite subjects to paint.

When I paint barns they are my favorite. Does that mean I am wishy washy.

I Do Like Palm Trees

In southern California there are palm trees everywhere. Those white stucco houses with those

beautiful rich burnt sienna colored roofs forever stand out against the blue blue sky.

Gotta love it.

I really do like palm trees.

On A Damp Misty Day

On a damp misty day right after the rain the world is perfect. No storms to take away

our home. No wind to blow off the shingles. No one left homeless....Just a damp clean

landscape with that fresh good scent of a glorious gift from God. And did I mention the glistening sheen of

the blue gray pavement. Nothing better........

I did this a little differently but it sure was fun and

challenging.

Another country landscape. I am still lovin it. I feel such a sense of

freedom. Isn't that strange. While at the workshop we painted clouds

in a way I haven't done before. I felt jubilant. I had so much fun. What I

mean is I am still having fun.

Last week I attended a week long workshop taught by Elin Pendleton

in Dawsonville, Georgia. I must say that I think it was the best gift I have

ever give myself. I learned about color. This is a painting I did after attending.
