Paradise In The Woods by Angela Sullivan

Paradise In The Woods
I was just notified that this painting won third place in the cfai June Challenge.
I was also chosen as one of their  feature artist this month please visit to read my interview.
I was surprised and very honored. Thank you to all of you who visit my blog and support me.
To celebrate I will be doing a giveaway. I will give away a 6x6 oil on canvas or your choice of a 5x7. The winner will be drawn from all who comment on my blog for the month of July. The winner will be announced on August first.
Some people think they need an RV to camp. That is because they have not experienced the
joy of camping in a tent. Laying down right there under the stars. If you are lucky you can have the cover off and see those twinkling lights in the sky. The sound of the crickets or the croaking of bullfrogs just make for a good summers night. If you should get bored you can always get one of those mason jars and catch a few lightening bugs. Any bad day at camping is better than a good day at work...

Powell Harbor by Angela Sullivan

Powell Harbor by Angela Sullivan
While camping at Lake Guntersville Alabama we passed this little lighthouse on the river. My daughter Julie was with me and I just so happened to have my Plein Aire setup in the car. I told her I just had to paint this so off we go down a tiny trail of a road. We drive up and Julie jumped out of the car to ask if it was ok to set up there to paint. It was hot and the air was still but I had so much fun. Might I say she was a little more tan when we left. Great fun....

Megan's Tulip by Angela Sullivan

Megan's Tulip by Angela Sullivan
I painted this because a co-worker had taken a picture of this
tulip planted in her garden. Her grandmother had given it to her.
I liked the texture of the old wood fence.

Hidden Among The Trees by Angela Sullivan

Hidden Among The Trees
Out in the country tucked in among the trees she stands.
The barn with the bluish tint. Not freshly painted by any means. But still she remains in pretty
decent shape. There she is hidden among the trees.

Waiting For A Call by Angela Sullivan

Waiting For A Call by Angela Sullivan
Not your house on a hill but certainly a nice place to be. I named this because of the telephone lines
going in. I just figured that surely someone is waiting for a call.

Snowed In

Snowed In
In a wonderland of snow is a place called familiar. A place which can find refuge from the cold.
This day I am lucky. This day the barn I stumbled across has a fireplace. Old and filled with cob webs but a sight of comfort as I fumble through my pocket and find a lighter. A little dry hay and a small fire which gets bigger as I add more hay. Warmth precious warmth. I peek out and realize what it is like to be snowed in.
