The latest news is that former Republican member of Congress Mark Siljander (MI) has been indicted on 42 federal counts for money laundering for al-Qaeda and the Taliban.

Hmmmm. Wonder how many emails that will generate from the far right? My bet: none. Just an isolated thing they will say.

And of course Mr. Siljander could be innocent.

Could be. But somehow I suspect the U.S. Department of Justice did not rush to judgment on this one.

Oh, and more good news. The money he was helping launder for al-Queda were tax dollars stolen from the U.S. Agency for International Development. Your money. I knew that would make you feel better.

Now the question is whether the rope will finally tighten around Grover Norquist for his cuddling-up with Islamo-terrorists (he runs the GOP brain trust known as the Wednesday meeting, married a Palestinian woman, and founded the Islamic Institute raided by the FBI for its terrorist connections), or whether he will go down for his work with Jack Abramoff instead.

Oh, and by the way, Grover Norquist's brother is a big deal in the Department of Homeland Security and in charge of the Haliburton contracts. It seems Walt Disney was right: It's a small world after all.

4Meanwhile in South Carolina, Mike Huckabee has said it's time we changed America at the most basic level. His proposal is nothing less that to rewrite the U.S. Constitution so that it fits his narrow Southern Baptist tenets. Hmmmm . . . American Taliban anyone? See the video. Even Joe Scarborough cannot believe it!

4Finally, the always helpful and clear-thinking ACLU has decided to ride to Larry Craig's defense, arguing that people who have sex in public bathrooms have an expectation of privacy and a right to have sex in public restrooms. For his part, Craig is arguing that waving his hand under the bathroom stall is Constitutionally protected free speech.
